This tandem paragliding experience is perfect for beginners, families, solo travelers, and adrenaline junkies.

The journey starts with a 30 to 45-minute scenic drive from Pokhara Lakeside to Sarangkot Hill, located at around 1,600 meters above sea level. After arriving at the takeoff point, participants are briefed by certified pilots on safety and flight instructions. Difficulty Level Sarangkot Paragliding :

Sarangkot Paragliding is one of the easiest and safest adventure sports in Nepal. It requires no trekking or physical fitness training. The flight is conducted in tandem, meaning a licensed pilot manages all controls, from takeoff to landing. The passenger only needs to run a few steps for takeoff and can relax during the ride. This makes it completely beginner-friendly, even for those who have never experienced adventure sports before.

There is no risk of altitude sickness due to the relatively low elevation of Sarangkot. However, beginners should stay hydrated, avoid heavy meals before the flight, and follow all safety instructions provided by the flight team.

Details Itinerary

5 Days

For early risers, the day begins with an optional sunrise tour to the Sarangkot viewpoint, one of the most famous vantage points near Pokhara. You'll drive uphill in the pre-dawn hours to reach the ridge just before sunrise. From there, you’ll witness the first golden rays touch the peaks of Annapurna, Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), Dhaulagiri, and Hiunchuli. This tranquil moment offers a serene start to an otherwise adrenaline-filled day.

After sunrise viewing, you can return to your hotel for breakfast and some rest before your paragliding pickup.

5 Days

Your official paragliding adventure begins around 8:30 AM, when a vehicle picks you up from your hotel in Pokhara. Most operators provide round-trip transportation from major areas like Lakeside or Damside. The drive to the Sarangkot paragliding launch site takes about 30 to 45 minutes, ascending through winding roads with increasingly panoramic views.

5 Days

Upon arrival at the takeoff point (approx. 1,600 meters), your pilot and ground crew will greet you. Before takeoff, you’ll undergo a comprehensive safety briefing, which includes:

  • Instructions on how to run during takeoff

  • Proper seated position during flight

  • Tips for a smooth landing

  • What to do (and not do) mid-air

You’ll also be fitted with safety gear, including a harness and helmet. The tandem setup means you are securely fastened to an experienced, certified pilot.

5 Days

Now comes the highlight: your tandem flight begins from Sarangkot Hilltop. With a brief run down a grassy slope, you’re airborne—gliding over the Pokhara Valley, with a full aerial view of Phewa Lake, Pokhara city, terraced fields, and even snow-capped mountains to the north.

Depending on wind conditions and the flight package, you’ll stay airborne for 25 to 30 minutes, allowing ample time to take in the scenery, take photos, and feel the adrenaline.

Most operators also offer in-flight GoPro videos and photos, which are included or available for purchase post-flight.

5 Days

The flight ends with a gentle landing near Pame or the northern shore of Phewa Lake, a designated paragliding landing zone. Ground staff assist with a smooth touchdown, and your vehicle will be waiting nearby.

After your landing, you’ll be driven back to your hotel in Pokhara—usually arriving around 11:00 AM, with the rest of the day still free to explore the city or relax by the lakeside.
